I have the honor of planning a studio opening (to be blogged about later), and this also entails finding other wedding professionals to be sponsors for this event. We have some great vendors lined up for this, and I am so excited.
Earlier this week, I stopped in the Night Kitchen Bakery in Chestnut Hill to meet with Amy Edelman, the owner, and with Jennifer, the pastry chef. We had great a great conversation, and they sent me on my way home with a box of cupcakes!
This is what they have for cake tastings for clients. YUM.
Those who've worked with me know that I'm not a huge fan of wedding cake. I rarely eat it at weddings. My favorite flavor is mocha/coffee, and most clients don't choose that, so a few times a year, my husband treats me to a huge mocha/coffee cake... but I digress.
These were delicious. Simple scrumptous. The cake was yellow cake, carrot cake, and chocolate with different icings. I really love their butter cream. I could just eat a whole tub of it. With their moist chocolate cake, it was heaven. The mocha icing was delicious. Everything was awesome. But my favorite was chocolate cake with buttercream and raspberry jam.
I usually eat half a cupcake so my husband can try the other half, but they're all so good, it's been like a cupcake warzone in my house. Whoever picks up the cupcake gets to eat the whole thing. So I haven't tried the chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, and the yellow cake with lemon curd. Through his icing covered lips, he said it was pretty damn good.
Thank you Amy and Jenn for everything!
