Bridal Showcase 2010 at Manayunk River Club

This past April, cHill Weddings worked with Ardent Management to create another successful bridal showcase!

This year, it was held at the Manayunk River Club (a part of the Manayunk Brew Pub), and we had some great new vendors join the roster of participants.  The same sponsors from last year graced us again with decor items, flowers, rentals, music, cake tastings, and photography.

cHill Weddings main part was to create three design tables.  I worked closely with Margaux of Fleur de Lis, whose work I love and admire.

The first table: Tea Party Table

I gave Margaux a little blue and white floral teapot that had been sitting in my office as decor for years.  Using that as inspiration, she create the florals for the table.  The table had muted patterns on ivory as linen, and a white and blue floral chair cushion.

I really loved this romantic table.  It was fun to create.  It would work great for large estate Victorian weddings, or a bridal shower.



Second table: Wine Country

This table was made possible by Event FX (http://www.eventfx.biz/).  They provided the antique wine box that inspired this whole look.  Select Event Rentals (http://www.weparty.com/) provided all rentals for each table.  Margaux added the lush, rich floral arrangement to the table, which was created to appear to burst out of the box. 

Third table: the Modern Bling Table

This table's showcase was the centerpiece (also provided by Event FX).  It was placed right by the entrance, and it was the first thing guests saw, and it really was a show piece.

It was really fun to work with black for the table.  I RARELY work with black for weddings, so it was incredibly freeing to work with fabrics and colors for this showcase that I normally wouldn't use for a wedding.  Sometimes, thinking outside of the box for a wedding is not a bad thing! I would love to have this piece at one of my weddings!

Here is my girl Liz, one of the founders of Dulcetta Designs (http://dulcettadesigns.etsy.com/).  She manned my table which was shared with Dulcetta (my sister company) showing off some of the awesome things we made for samples.

The place was packed with couples, wedding planning students, and other planners.  It was a fun time, with food provided by the various caterers featured at the show and also by the Manayunk Brew Pub.

Society Hill Dance Academy (http://www.societyhilldance.com/) came as a vendor and also did a bit of dancing for us!

I love this picture of my friend Tanti Lina of http://www.papertini.com/.  She's one of my favorite vendor friends.  We'll be doing a blog post about her soon!  Here she is being cute, but it's also probably because she was loving those signature drinks the bartender was making. :)

The show was split into 2 rooms.  The first room (this one) housed the bar, two of our showcase tables, and my booth.  The venue normally has really funky red and black furniture.  You can see pictured below their chandeliers. It's definitely a cool place for a party or an intimate wedding.

The other room had the DJ (Magical Sight and Sound), who also provided some up lighting in the rooms. This room also housed my tea party table!

A day of rest....

So after a wonderful but labor intensive wedding for Sara and Kevin, my team and I hopped back onto the wedding saddle and set up for the Hibachi Bridal Show.

No pictures yet! But coming soon.

It was a great event - and we enjoyed the beautiful weather (but with A/C) in the ballroom of Hibachi - which has two wall-length windows.

cHill Weddings designed the 3 show tables and also invited all the sponsor vendors, who all helped to make the event a success.

I also would like to thank my wonderful clients for stopping by to say hello. And lastly, special thanks to Christine and Justin for coming by! My lovely newlywed friends came from NYC just to see me in action! I love when friends care.

So... with the craziness of this weekend, my legs, feet, and back are killing me. Nothing better than a nice long massage. I amped it up to 75 minutes aromatherapy (I don't think I have any knots so a deep tissues isn't necessary today) - I think I will probably pass out the moment my head going into the donut thingy.

Cake Extravaganza!

Last Tuesday night, my staff and I hit up Loews for some awesome cake tasting and viewing. We were there for City of Hope's Let Them Eat Cake.

So saw some awesome cakes, and eat some delicious cakes... I am going to try my best to remember everyone.


This cake was one of my favorites: from Keatings. There was a lady dressed in a Hanbok, and little Korean figurines were added as embellishment for the cake. The best part of the cake was the design underneath the roof (which I didn't take a photo of).


A cake designed by Van Earls Cakes, who is awesome! They just gave me a private tasting last weekend, which I will blog about soon. Van Earls will also be at Hibachi's Bridal Open House tomorrow!

This weekend is crazy! We have the beautiful Sara marrying Kevin tomorrow at Blue Bell Country Club, then our Hibachi event on Sunday!

A big Announcement!

One month from TODAY....


Hide of Hibachi at Penn's Landing has asked me to help him coordinate the first ever bridal open house at Hibachi!

The ballroom, lobby, and lounge has been renovated with fresh hardwood floors, expansion, and change of paint, and Hibachi is eager to show off their new look and really want brides, grooms, parents, and wedding/event planners to consider their restaurant and ballroom has a potential wedding venue.

cHill Weddings did their first wedding at Hibachi last October (Kassie and Martin's wedding) but that was pre-renovation.

We are excited to join the team of wonderful and talented vendors, and I hope you will come to see the space, enjoy the riverfront view, eat some great food, and meet some amazing vendors. Plus, you can win a chance for a free wedding banquet up to 75 guests!
