When clients inquire about day of coordination, they're usually hiring me for peace of mind, but every once in a while, I have a DIY couple who just need help with the set up. I was really excited because Kassie and Martin was my first Asian-American couple. As an Asian-American wedding planner, I have yet to coordinate an all Asian wedding, so I was very excited!
This is just a sneak peek, so here are some photos taken with my iphone. The pictures do not do justice of the entire day! The photographer showed me some images of the ceremony and portraits during the reception and they were STUNNING! I cannot wait until he sends them over to me. Until then.....
The ceremony took place in Bryn Athyn at Cairnwood.
Shannon was the best person to work with!
Kassie originally had planned on making the centerpieces herself, but eventually had her florist take care of it. She provided the vases, which also served as table numbers.
The favors were red chopsticks in a beautiful red and gold holder. They were in a vase on each table.
They also created their own invitations and menu. The dinner was station style, so the guests were able to get a preview of what was expected at dinner.
This was the first table you saw when you walked into the main room. The table was already set up with a white table cloth and this hideous purple skirt. We used all the leftover roses and used their petals to create a bed for the seating charts, surrounded by candles. Talk about ambiance!
A close up of the seating charts, also created by Kassie and Martin. The seating charts were adorned with the Chinese character for happiness.

Kassie and Martin hired Dynasty Weddings from NYC for their photo, video, and DJ. The two MC's were able to provide Chinese and Vietnamese translations throughout the evening.
The reception was at Hibachi in Penns Landing. Not a typical wedding venue, but their food was great! Also, you can't beat this view! At night, with all the candles in the room with the spectacular view of the river, the reception was incredibly romantic.
We hung 40 red paper lanterns throughout the room to create a dimension to the room.
The wedding could not have been a success with the help of my assistants: Duyen, Lisa, and Tasha (posing after set up was completed).
Duyen is also a new addition to our team! Stay tuned...
Edit: I just discovered Dynasty's Blog! Kevin has posted some teaser pics there too - the images are so great! What a beautiful couple...
