A few months ago, I received an email from a bride named Liz. At this point, I was already receiving inquiries for 2009, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was for a wedding in Nov 2008.
The wedding was a bit further out than my usual Philadelphia area weddings (Lehigh Valley), but it was worth the drive! Liz and Tom's wedding was so intimate and beautiful! The venue was the Saucon Valley County Club's Weyhill Guest House, which also provided guest rooms for their family. The dining room that overlooked the green was used for dinner, and the space in the back, which was surrounded by candles, provided room for the ceremony and later, the dancing. The manager, Jim, was so great to work with, and even better, was to meet guests who once caddied at the club when they were much younger.
With a guestlist of only 60 people, the wedding was very intimate provided a very elegant but relaxed atmosphere. Their family friend was the photographer, Andy Oster, who usually only photographs weddings of friends and family. The wedding was full of family, their children, and their nieces and nephews. Later in the night, Liz's family dressed up in green leis and green hats and did an Irish dance in honor of Tom's Irish heritage.
It was a pleasure to work Liz and Tom's wedding, a couple who really understand love and the meaning of marriage. They are a fun loving couple, who make all their friends and family laugh, and are surrounded by so much love from their children.
Here are some photos that I took from my iphone:
The escort card table: The 3 arrangements were used during the ceremony and were later moved to this table for decor. The main flowers were white hydrangeas with white tulips, accented with branches.
I particularly loved this piece. It looks as though the tulips are growing out of the bowl of hydrangeas.
The cake was in all white, but decorated with different details on each layer. A simple cake that make a statement.
The centerpieces looked like freshly picked garden flowers.
The bride's bouquet of roses and tulips.
The bridesmaids (Liz's daughter Brittany and Tom's daughter Shannon) had tulips and lily buds with hydrangea.
